Yayasan Sime Darby's COVID-19 Relief Efforts
The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted all aspects of society on a global scale. In Malaysia, we saw businesses experiencing temporary shutdowns and in some cases, permanent cessation; as well as people from all walks of life facing extreme difficulties financially and emotionally. Although the nation has entered into a Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) phase, many people are still facing severe challenges, and the fight against COVID-19 continues.
I am humbled to be leading Yayasan Sime Darby (YSD), the philanthropic arm of the 3 Sime Darby companies i.e. Sime Darby Plantation Berhad, Sime Darby Berhad and Sime Darby Property Berhad; as YSD has been able to do our part to support our country as we continue to weather this storm together. Our 3 donors have supported us all the way to undertake humanitarian efforts to ensure that as many Malaysians as possible are able to receive the help needed to fight the negative impact that COVID-19 has had on their lives. Since the start of the Movement Control Order (MCO) early this year, we have initiated multiple COVID-19 relief efforts in the form of various medical and non-medical aid in collaboration with countless partners.
