Junior Talent Development Programme – Khoo Er Yang
YSD recently embarked on its first “Junior Talent Development” Programme – a form of support which seeks to provide an avenue for young and deserving individuals, enabling them to excel in sports as well as education.
By supporting the “grooming” of potential world class talent, YSD hopes to be instrumental in early talent development, which may provide the country with world class athletes and players for the future.

The first to benefit from YSD's support under this initiative is Khoo Er Yang (16), a rising tennis star in Malaysia. Khoo Er Yang is currently being groomed under the YSD Junior Talent Development Programme, which funds his participation and competition in international and local tournaments, amounting to RM140,000.

Khoo Er Yang has competed in three international tournaments as well as in the recent National Tennis Circuit, where he has become the youngest player to reach the semi-finals of the men’s single while also beating several higher ranking opponents. With constant training and nurturing, Khoo Er Yang is expected to be a bright star in men’s tennis in Malaysia.

YSD’s support through this programme will help Khoo Er Yang build and improve his game and professional ranking, while also encouraging other talented youth to pursue a career in competitive tennis or any other sports.
