Malaysia’s first interactive light art exhibition – iNYALA ended with a huge success after a month-long exhibition held at REXKL in November 2019. iNYALA aimed to celebrate the interconnectedness of creativity and innovation, bringing imagination to possibilities through immersive art, technology and visual-sensory experiences.
With the slogan “Imagine the Impossible”, iNyala featured 9 art installations by students and 3 by industry professionals - transforming the space into digital park inspired by nature in urban living. Yayasan Sime Darby is honoured to have supported iNyala 2019 and is proud of the students for their astounding works in making the exhibition a huge success. The one-month exhibition has recorded more than 8,000 visitors, making it an event to remember.
Since 2009, YSD has committed a total of RM27.95 million for the Arts & Culture pillar towards projects and activities that encourage, educate and develop Malaysian arts and culture.
YSD had chosen to support iNyala as it provided the opportunity for university/college students to contribute fresh and innovative ideas, which translated into brilliant installations that merge art and technology. Moreover, iNyala resonated with our focus areas which include supporting arts providers and venue owners to increase the affordability of the arts to the public, as well as driving arts education through capacity-building activities.
